Description

Start your private 2-hour long-tail boat tour through Bangkok's hidden canals! Discover the peaceful riverside life far from the city’s hustle and bustle. As we travel along these historic canals, you’ll see raised wooden houses, lively temples, and lush green views—a calm contrast to Bangkok’s urban vibe. Along the way, take in the unique canal culture and see the traditional lifestyle of the riverside communities. In this tour, you can choose where to stop. We provide 30-45 minutes at each location for you to explore. Tour Highlights: ⏺ Departure: We’ll start at Wat Mai Yai Nui Pier (Wutthakat 24) in Thonburi. ⏺ Cruise Along Khlong Dan: Once a historic toll point from the Sukhothai to Ayutthaya period, this canal was where taxes were collected from foreign trading boats. Along the way, admire a mix of old and modern houses and historic temples. ⏺ The 2 Giant Buddhas Views: At Khlong Dan, spot two large Buddha statues—Wat Pak Nam on the left and Wat Khun Chan on the right—with a historic school building from 1923 nearby, a memory from World War II. ⏺ Wat Pak Nam Phasi Charoen: This beautiful Ayutthaya-period temple feels like a little island. See the stunning 69-meter-tall Buddha statue, the tallest in Bangkok, and the beautiful Great Pagoda with its Emerald Glass Pagoda holding a sacred Buddha relic. ⏺ Bang Luang Canal Community: Discover this charming community, once a bustling market and trade route. Don’t miss the Artist House, an old wooden home from the Ayutthaya era, now a creative space centered around an ancient stupa. ⏺ Feeding the Fish in the Canal: Experience a meaningful Thai tradition by feeding the fish along the canal. This simple act of giving, known as “making merit,” is believed to bring good luck, good health, and a long life. It's a peaceful moment that connects you with local culture and the serene canal environment. ⏺ More Canal Routes: Explore side canals like Bang Waek, Bang Chuek Nang, and Sanam Chai. Witness traditional riverside life, from old wooden homes still lived in to abandoned ones, still beautiful in their aged charm. ⏺ Flexible Drop-off: You can choose your drop-off spot! If you’d like to explore more, like Wat Pak Nam or Bang Luang Canal, just let our boat driver know. Or, if you’d like to head back by BTS or MRT, we can arrange that too. _____________________ Additional Options: Our tour is a self-guided trip, our host will meet you at the boat, brief you on the route, and introduce you to your boat driver. Customize Your Trip: You can also request a non-stop boat tour if you’d like!
