Electricity and Plugs

The mains electricity supply in Bangkok is 220v and 50 Hz, which will work with appliances from the UK, Europe, Australia and New Zealand as well as many other countries; however plugs and sockets may differ or require a plug converter. Two-pin flat and three-pin plugs work depending on the wall sockets available, though many hotels have three-pin plugs.

Always check that your electrical items will not be damaged by the wrong voltage and/or Hz. Many laptops and phones have converters built into the charger and should work, but do check before plugging them in. Many hotels will be able to loan a converter plug for the same voltage
